Registering Online Q. How do I know that BeyondTech Solutions has received my information?
A. Once you have created your profile and have selected "Submit", you will get a "Thank You" confirmation page with this message: "Thank you for registering with BeyondTech Solutions... We look forward to working with you soon." It is best to have your resume handy for reference when completing your profile. Also, remember to join our new Referral Program.
Q. How will my info be processed?
A. It is very important that you take the time to complete your profile and provide all the required info. For example, candidates often forget to send their resume. Upon receipt of your submission, your details will be included in our candidate database which when recruiting we search first. Please ensure you complete all the required steps when you apply online.
Q. Do I, as a job seeker, have to pay for BeyondTech Solutions' services?
A. No, we do not charge job seekers for our services. We are paid by employers for all successful placements.
Q. Do I need to resubmit my information for different openings?
A. If there no major changes to your resume, it would be unnecessary to resubmit. Apply for positions that are best suited to your current skills and experience. The least effective approach is to randomly apply or to apply for all open positions. You loose credibility.
Q. How does the recruitment process work?
A. We match your profile against our clients' requirements. Once a match occurs, we will contact you. If you are interested, qualified and available, we will meet with you to provide further details, then conduct your references and arrange an interview with our client.
Q. Do I have control over where and when my information is submitted?
A. Yes, we work with you on opportunities that you wish to pursue only. All candidate information is held in strict confidence. No candidate will be presented to a client without his or her prior consent.
Types of Services Q. Contract Placements - How do they work?
A. Similar to permanent employment except there is a finite period of time to perform specific project work (i.e. complete a set of deliverables/set of tasks). Our contract placements vary in length from 4 weeks to 1 year, with the possibility of an extension period.
Q. For Contract Placements - Do I have to incorporate?
A. Whether you choose to be incorporated or self-employed (sole proprietorship), we will make the necessary arrangements that will suit your preference. Visit our Useful Links for information about contracting and starting your own business.
Q. Permanent Placements - How do they work?
A. For clients looking for full-time employees, we will identify the top candidates (1-3) accordingly to their requirements. We recruit, shortlist, interview, conduct references, and assist with the offer/negotiation process to ensure that the parties' expectations are met.
Q. How will I be compensated?
A. For contract work, you will be paid on an hourly basis by BeyondTech Solutions according to your signed timesheet and invoice. For permanent placements, you will be paid a salary by our client (your new employer) as per their payroll cycle.
Q. How can I make the most of your services?
A. Please provide us with your pertinent details - your most employable skills to date (i.e. current experience, skills, and work expectations). Please resubmit your profile and resume as you continue to acquire new skills and gain new work experiences.
Q. If I am a foreigner, will BeyondTech Solutions sponsor me?
A. We have and are willing to employ foreigners with valid work visas or individuals who have been approved for immigration to Canada. Unfortunately we are not in the position to sponsor candidates as we are a third party and can not apply on behalf of the individual seeking immigration or relocation.
Referral Program Q. What is the Referral Program about?
A. Referrals are good part of our business and we want to encourage people to tell everyone they know about our services and the positions we are recruiting on. We will pay you a referral bonus for every person you refer to us whom we successfully place.
Q. Will I be responsible for each person I refer and how will it be tracked?
A. Your role will be to make the initial introduction. We are responsible for interviewing, screening, and making the final recommendation. Each candidate you refer to us will be recorded in our database, provided that person is not already on our system.
Q. Why should I join the Referral Program?
It is a win-win opportunity. You are set to benefit from the start as we take the risk away from referring. We are responsible for assessing the caliber of the candidates referred. Helping out your friends is a great feeling and you get paid for it! No limits and no pressure to refer.
Market yourself Q. How can I market myself better?
Take the time to write a good resume, research the company you are applying to, and understand the relevance of your skills and experience for the requirements of the position at hand.
Q. In addition to applying for job openings, what else can I do?
A. Try different avenues: 1) market yourself online 2) network with friends, colleagues, etc. 3) attend industry sponsored functions 4) investigate programs provided by government 5) attend career fairs. Try your best to maintain a positive outlook as negativity repels others.
Q. Is there a perfect resume?
A. No. Your resume evolves as you acquire new skills and experience. Focus on your role, responsibilities, and/or achievements as job titles can be vague. Employers want to know your most employable skills (not what you did 10 years ago). Try not to identify each and every task; group and organize your information effectively. 2-5 pages as a rule of thumb.
Q. Why have I not been contacted?
A. There may be a number of reasons here: 1) we may not have a suitable opportunity for you at the present time 2) there may be more qualified candidates applying 3) your information and resume provided may not be marketing you effectively 4) your job specifications may be too narrow 5) you may have submitted an incomplete profile or forgotten to include your resume when registering online. This is frequent mistake.
Q. What if my track record has blemishes?
A. It is not impossible to get back on track. You will need to be upfront in regards to past performance. Represent yourself tactfully and know what message you would like to get across. Be prepared to explain what happened and what you plan to change this time around. What did you learn and how will things be different?
Q. How to prepare a proper reference list?
A. A proper reference list identifies the following: 1) manager/supervisor's name 2) manager's official job title 3) company name 4) contact information: telephone number and email. It would be wise to contact your references to inform them of your current job search.
